DSF SCHOOL MATINEES

BRING YOUR SCHOOL TO THE FESTIVAL!

We invite you and your students to join us at the Veterans’ Memorial Theatre in Davis, CA for the fourth year of our DSF School Matinee Program! This year will feature Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors. Students and teachers are invited to this professional production for a special school-only matinee. Actors and designers will stay after the performance for a Question & Answer session with the students.

Educational Workshops:

This exciting pre-show workshop prepares your students to experience DSF’s production of Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors. Two of our festival actors and/or staff will join your classroom and lead students through a series of interactive exercises with Shakespeare’s text. In just one hour we will have them immersed in the world of the play, creating a greater understanding of the plot, themes, and major characters.

Included are three one hour lesson plans, indexed to California State and Common Core Standards. These are a great way to enhance your students’ understanding of the language, character motivations, and the plot.

*Maximum 30 students per workshop

Program Details

Recommended Age: 4th – 12th Grade

Shakespeare School Immersion Fees:
$10 per student per Performance (matinees at 10am)
$10 per chaperone per Performance (matinees at 10am)

$75 per 1-15 students per Workshop
$150 per 16-30 students per Workshop (30 student maximum)

Show Length: Approximately 2 hours including a 15-20 minute Q&A after the show
