Born of our steadfast commitment to incorporating live music into our festival programming, DSF is proud to introduce its resident instrumental ensemble dedicated to providing programming from a diverse repertoire of musical theatre, as well as new works inspired by classical texts, the likes of those performed on our mainstage. In addition to multiple concerts you can look forward to throughout the year, DSFME will also produce smaller ensembles that will perform at our various public and private events occurring throughout the season.  Also, the inaugural season will culminate in a concert inspired based on our 2019 Fall production of Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors.

In addition to a sincere desire to intertwine live music with our festival season, we are also committed to providing opportunities for instrumentalists to earn income for sharing their talents.  Those selected for the ensemble will receive a stipend for their commitment and time.  If you are interested in joining the premiere cohort of musicians of Davis Shakespeare Festival Music Ensemble, please fill out the form below.  Participants will be chosen based on programming needs, personnel capacity, and musicianship.
