Davis Shakespeare Festival Youth Theatre returns for its 5th Year in January 2020 with Shakespeare’s Cymbeline!

DSF Youth Theatre participants will experience the joy of performing Shakespeare while learning the importance of collaboration! Guided by our team of professional actors and directors, our final performance will feature immersive text-work, original music, and more! This year the program will take place at International House Davis @ 10 College Park!

Rehearsals will begin January 28th and the Final Performance will be March 7th.
Rehearsals will run Tuesdays from 4:00pm – 5:30pm & Saturdays from 10:00am – 1:00pm
Enrollment: $300 + processing fee
Ages: 8-17
All levels of experience welcome!

Conduct & Behavior Contract

The goal of this contract is to ensure a safe and productive environment for students and staff. Students and parents must understand the following guidelines of misconduct and their consequences, then indicate their agreement below:

Levels of Misconduct

Minor Misconduct:
- General class disruption that limits learning
- Unauthorized use of electronic or personal communication devices during workshop - Disrespect of instructors
- Excessive quarreling with fellow students
- Use of offensive language

Major Misconduct:
- Inappropriate or lewd language, actions, or gestures
- Fighting
- Excessive teasing
- Urging others to disregard the Conduct and Behavior Code 
- Misuse of workshop materials or the facility
- Throwing objects that could harm others or self

Zero Tolerance:
- Any form of violence: of intimidation, violence, force, noise, coercion, or threat
- Any possession of illegal substances of materials: includes, but is not limited to, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, explosives, or knives
- Any use of language or gestures of a provoking nature: includes, but is not limited to, insult, profanity, ethnic, racial, sexual, or religious slurs, harassment, or threat of any nature
- Any behavior that attempts to demean, degrade, antagonize, humiliate or embarrass another camper or group of campers
- Any intentional damaging of DSE property or personal property or theft

Consequences

- 3 infractions of Minor misconduct may result in student dismissal. 
- 1 infraction of Major misconduct may result in student dismissal.
- Any infraction from the Zero Tolerance misconduct category will result in the immediate dismissal of without a refund.
- All documented infractions will be reported to parents before the camper risks dismissal from workshops in order to amend behavior or conduct.
- Parents, counselors, or workshop staff may have a meeting before the student is dismissed, but the decision of dismissal is solely up to workshop staff.

Liability Waiver

Please review the following waiver of certain legal rights.

Waiver

I/we am/are aware of the usual dangers and risks inherent to workshops that will be done at Davis Shakespeare Ensemble's Workshops. Theater games, workshops and rehearsals conducted at Workshops will involve actively engaging the body. By signing this waiver, I/we freely accept and fully assume responsibility for all such dangers and risks and the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage or loss resulting therefrom.
In consideration of utilizing the Davis Shakespeare Ensemble's location facilities, equipment, and materials and for other good and valuable consideration, I/we hereby agree as follows:
1. TO WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS for personal injury including, death, illness, and/or property damage that I/we may have against Davis Shakespeare Ensemble 501(c)(3), their shareholders, partners, directors, ensemble members, counselors, sponsors, affiliates, employees, contractors, representatives and any volunteers in any way associated with Workshops all of whom are hereinafter collectively referred to as “the Releasees.”
2. TO RELEASE THE RELEASEES FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY for any loss, damage, injury, death, medical or other expense that I/we may suffer or that any other party may suffer as a result of my use of Workshops facilities, equipment, materials and any other Workshops activities, or rehearsals, due to any cause whatsoever.
3. TO HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFY THE RELEASEES from any and all liability for any property damage or personal injury to any third party, resulting from my use of Davis Shakespeare Ensemble facilities and my participation in and workshops, games and/or rehearsal whatsoever.
4. THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY SHALL BE EFFETIVE AND BINDING upon my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns in the event of my personal injury including death, illness, and/or property damage.
5. I/WE ADDITIONALLY AGREE not to take unreasonable risks while participating in any activity, workshop, game and/or rehearsal at Davis Shakespeare Ensemble's Workshops.
6. I/WE ADDITIONALLY AGREE that I/we shall follow correct safety procedures when using the Davis Shakespeare Ensemble facilities. I/we also expressly grant to the camp, and any third party authorized by the camp, the right to film, videotape, photograph, record my voice and make any reproductions of my physical likeness and voice, and the irrevocable right in perpetuity to use, display, and digitally enhance or alter in any manner, such likeness in any media now known or hereafter devised, including, but not limited to, the exhibition and/or online use, broadcast, theatrically or on television, cable or radio, and motion picture film, video tape, DVD, CD or any Internet service or program in which such likeness may be used or otherwise, or any published articles, catalogs, or websites in which such likeness may be printed, used or incorporated, and in the advertising, exploiting and publicizing of Workshops, Davis Shakespeare Ensemble products, licensed products, and all affiliated relationships.
I/WE HEREBY CERTIFY THAT I/we am/are covered by my own Medical Insurance, and that I/we have read and understand this Release of Liability prior to signing it, and I/we am aware that by signing this Release of Liability I/we am/are waiving certain legal rights which I/we or my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns may have against the Releasees.
Davis Shakespeare Ensemble will have the right to impose any additional conditions which, in the opinions of the Releasees, will further the intent and legal rights and waivers provided herein.
I/we acknowledge that in executing this Waiver, I/we are not relying on any inducements, promises, or representations made by the Releasees.
I am acting on behalf of the student's other parent in signing this contract and I have authority to bind such other parent to the terms and conditions of this contract on his or her behalf.
